About SGSAH

We are the world’s first national graduate school in the Arts & Humanities. Our membership includes sixteen Scottish universities, from the oldest to the newest & including our four art schools & national conservatoire.  We cover Scotland’s geography from the Highlands & Islands to the Scottish Borders, & we work with a wide range of supporters from the arts, culture, creative & heritage sectors. We incorporate the AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership for Scotland.

Although we are rooted in Scotland our research & our researchers have global reach. We welcome the many contributions made to our culture & society by every doctoral researcher in across our member HEIs, & we support positive connections & productive networks locally, regionally & globally.

We are funded by the Scottish Funding Council & the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as well as our member HEIs.

The SGSAH Blog is managed by Joanna Rodgers, PhD researcher at the Centre for History, University of the Highlands & Islands.
